Farmer's Market: It's Where the Feast Starts
From fresh produce and beginning yoga to a funk, reggae and acid-jazz band, here's what's happening Thursday, Dec. 30.
1. Celebrating the end of 2010 with a feast? Better start with fresh ingredients. Cruise by the farmer's market until 1 p.m. at the aMarin Veterans' Memorial Auditorium parking lot to stock up on perfect pears, succulent snap peas and all your favorite herbs.
2. If you've got limited mobility check out chair yoga for a little exercise. The class, which focuses on gentle breathwork, stretches, balance and relaxation, is from 2:15 to 3:15 p.m. at Whistlestop. Cost is $5 and details are here.
3. Do a little downward dog with your baby. "Mommy and Me Yoga" is from 10 to 11 a.m. at Parents Place. Full details are here.

4. Get your holiday groove on early. About Face — a funk, reggae and acid-jazz band — plays at 8 p.m. at George's nightclub.
5. Sewing camp is from 9 a.m. to noon at Marinwood Community Center. Kids eight -12 years old will learn layout and pattern cutting as well as stitch types. No expereince or sewing machine needed.
