San Rafael Officials Preparing for Warmer Temperatures

It should reach the high 80s on Friday and Saturday. What will you do to stay cool?

This weekend’s heat wave may not create as high of temperatures as initially expected, but local fire officials are still asking community members to be careful during the forecasted high temps as fire danger will remain high.

In an e-mail to regional emergency officials Wednesday afternoon, a National Weather Service meteorologist said hot temperatures are still forecasted for “far interior areas” across the North and East Bay, but “this will not be a heat event for the major metro areas in the San Francisco Bay area or the coastline.”

As of Thursday morning, the weather forecast for San Rafael predicted highs of 76 Thursday, 87 Friday, 83 on Saturday and 72 on Sunday, according to The Weather Channel.

Officials are also reminding beach goers to be careful, as intense rip currents are expected during the next several days.
