After 10 Years in San Rafael, Lighthouse Bar & Grill is Moving To San Anselmo

San Rafael-based eatery the Lighthouse Bar and Grill is moving to San Anselmo, according to a letter posted on the front of the downtown business.

On Friday morning, all of the signs for the restaurant, which was located in Lootens Plaza for 10 years, had been removed.

In the letter, restaurant officials said they decided to not renew their lease in San Rafael and they hope their new San Anselmo location, at 115 San Anselmo Avenue, will be more profitable for them. See the letter in the above images.

The last day the restaurant was operating in San Rafael was Sept. 8, according to the letter. The new Lighthouse will have expanded hours and still offer happy hour deals and bottomless mimosas on the weekend.

The San Anselmo spot is the former location of May Lee's Chinese Kitchen, adjacent to the U.S. Post Office and the new bakery M.H. Bread and Butter

Because the restaurant owners and staff will have to renovate and remodel the new location, they have not yet set a date for the grand opening of their new location, according to the letter.
