T.J.Maxx Opens this Sunday

The retailer hopes to add 60 full and part-time positions to the area.

A new T.J.Maxx store will open at 588 West Francisco Blvd. this Sunday, Feb. 19.

T.J.Maxx will add approximately 60 full and part-time jobs to San Rafael, and have around 10,000 new items arriving at the store each week.

The new retailer moved in to the 32,110-square-foot location The bookseller filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in February 2011, and Borders officials decided to close the San Rafael location after the shopping center's landlord would not reduce rent by half.

T.J.Maxx's grand opening hours are 8a.m. to 8:p.m. Regular store hours will be 9:30a.m. to 9:30p.m. Monday through Saturday and 11a.m. to 8p.m. on Sundays.
