This article leaves out the TAKE BACK event in Fairfax on Saturday! Not only will the FairfaxRead More Police be collecting unused prescription drugs, medications and supplements as part of the National Drug Take Back Day. But the Town of Fairfax, Marin Sanitary Service and Sustainable Fairfax have expanded this TAKE BACK DAY to include electronics waste recycling and paper shredding services. There will also be zero waste education, and free compost (for Fairfax residents only). http://sananselmofairfax.patch.com/groups/events/p/fairfax-take-back-day

It says Around Town but the headline is UTAH. Utah is not near Natick!! I think everyone should notRead More open an article on Patch unless they see their town's name in the headline. So If it doesn't say Natick, then we all know it is not LOCAL to the Natick Patch. The less clicks these Patch sites get, the fewer advertisers they will get and then perhaps they will realize if we want sensational news from across the country we'd go back to Patch's former owners AOL and the HuffPost! Those here from other Patch sites - I think you should do the same only click on articles that mention your community's name. No name. No click!

On biking to the park from town, it can be a dangerous option. The path could be upgraded withRead More safety measures. The intersection with the road to indian valley golf course is especially troubling, i beleive a bicyclist was just hit there last week. Wasnt there also a plan for development of a park that stretched from OHair park all the way to the lake? What are the chances of a bike/ pedestrian friendly path being added to the road to the golf course, and perhaps continuing to the park from the south side of the lake ? Its my ubderstanding that is all county land, leased to Indian valley golf club.

Marin Parks has been working on their official Road and Trail Management Plan and are nearing theRead More final stages. The RTMP will help guide the process of determining which new trails are built or modified to allow bike access and there's a quantifiable system (kind of) built into the plan. Part of the process is to hold local workshops by opens space preserve where multiple preserves have been grouped into Regions. Novato has 2 Regions which are scheduled for the second wave of workshops probably about 1 1/2 years out but for sure it will happen. The most recent meeting (3+ years into this process) presentation deck is here - http://www.marincountyparks.org/depts/pk/our-work/os-main-projects/~/media/Files/Departments/PK/Projects/Open%20Space/RTMP%20EIR/RTMP-EIR_CommunityWorkshop_Presentation_031514.pdf you can find the Regions on slide 46. It has been a long process but the county is doing a great job of taking input from all types of users.

And walkers too. And viewers. Anybody who even looks at the bridge should pay SOMETHING ! We'veRead More got this Golden Goose Bridge, let's take advantage...
Michael April 8, 2014 at 02:00 pm
No! we already pay out the nose in current taxes of all kinds (the people who pay taxes that is toRead More support those who don't pay taxes). There should be no toll on this or any other bridge. ZERO$ So why is there a GGB toll? Why does there continue to be a separate GGB Authority flush with high paid directors and lots and lots of overhead? Out of control this is.
Kim April 8, 2014 at 02:13 pm
Bicyclists & tourists use the bridge also and they should have to pay at least $1-2. To me, thatRead More is just common sense. Something that seems to be lacking around these parts.

Selling blacks that the democrat party is the best thung for their future was a helluva sales job,Read More especially considering their racist roots, at least in the south. Obama convincing blacks to vote for him a SECOND time was also a piece of work after ignoring them for 4 years and refilling their jobs with illegals. You will still get the highest approval level from black voters, even though unemployment for them is higher than illegals.

Bubba, the Massachusetts plan was driven by overwhelming Democrat majorities in one of the leastRead More Conservative states. The ACA was 100% inclusive of Democrats, most if course not knowledgable of the law and/or willing to let HHS figure it out in implementation. Republicans were shut out in all attempts to amend or alter this shell game of a law. The ACA - for good or bad - is ENTIRELY the product of the Democrat party and parliamentary tricks. You need to be honest and be proud about it. Trying to pass it back on the Republicans likely indicates you admit to it's failure. And, no, "at least it tries" is not sufficient.

It looks like were in real good shape here in the MMWD. I was out at Alpine reservoir yesterday andRead More it was full to the top and overflowing down to Kent Lake. So far we have got 36 inches of rain since December at our house above Mill Valley. And things are looking good up in Sonoma County too, the SCWA is selling their 5 year old headquarters to apartment developers and moving to another bigger location. The proposed Train Oriented Apartment Development (TOAD) is set to have a density of 18 to 30 units per acre. No water shortage in Sonoma County at all if they are approving a high density project like that, and of course, there never was a drought up there either.

The Irish Department of Health's deputy chief medical officer has warned that people who live nearRead More wind turbines risk having their health and psychological well being compromised. The Irish Examiner reports that, following a review of research on the effects of wind turbine noise on human health, the deputy CMO said, "There is a consistent cluster of symptoms related to wind turbine syndrome which occurs in a number of people in the vicinity of industrial wind turbines." ‘Wind turbine syndrome’ is a condition suffered by people living within earshot of the noise made by wind turbine blades as they spin round. The blades are known to make infrasounds, vibrations that we cannot consciously "hear", yet still have an effect on the inner ear. Symptoms include fatigue, dizziness, headache, difficulty concentrating, and insomnia. "There are specific risk factors for this syndrome and people with these risk factors experience symptoms. These people must be treated appropriately and sensitively as these symptoms can be very debilitating," the deputy CMO added. The Irish Department of the Environment looks set to ignore the advice, however. It has dismissed the deputy CMO's findings as "a preliminary literature review and not a recommendation of the Department of Health." The Department of Health is also choosing to downplay the warning, saying that it was "general overview of the literature in this area" that "did not constitute expert advice."
