Young People Auditions for CAROUSEL!

Auditions for the first production of the 2013-2014 season of Marilyn Izdebski's Musical-Theatre Workshops for young people, “CAROUSEL,” will be held on Friday & Saturday, September, from 3:30-7:30 p.m., at the Marilyn Izdebski Studio, 100 Shaw Dr., San Anselmo.

Friday, Sept. 6

Picnic on the Plaza

In it's fourth year, the popular community organized “Picnics on the Plaza” events feature: live music, an organic farm stand, and fun kids activities in downtown San Anselmo.

Art Break Day

San Rafael, 9 a.m.

“Take an art break and make art for FREE with the Fortnight Collective! Art Break Day is a FREE community art event where the public is provided the opportunity and space to create art for free. We will be set up with an array of art supplies at the Court Street Plaza on Fourth Street in downtown San Rafael. All ages and art skills are welcome.”

 

Saturday, Sept. 7

MMWD Trail Restoration Arturo Trail 
9 a.m.

Join the Marin Municipal Water District volunteer trail crew and help improve tread and drainage, shape portions of the trail and assist with minor vegetation clearance. Arturo Trail is a nice shady trail in the woods on the north slope of Middle peak of Mt. Tam. Meet at 9AM at the Air Force Base gate 1 ½ miles west of East Peak on Ridgecrest Blvd.

San Rafael Yacht Club Water Festival
1 p.m.

"The San Rafael Yacht Club will hold its annual “Summer Water Festival” from 1 – 4 p.m.  The Yacht Club is located at 200 Yacht Club Drive, just off of East Francisco near downtown San Rafael. The festival is free to the public and includes multiple activities on the waters of the San Rafael canal, for both children and adults. The festival will provide free sailboat rides and trial excursions on kayaks and stand-up paddleboards. The Great Paddle Challenge and other water activities are planned as well. Live music, BBQ food and drinks will be available. Raffle prizes, donated by local restaurants and merchants, will be offered."

Sunday, Sept. 8  

Bread & Roses and The Ritter Center Benefit 
San Rafael, 10 a.m.

Celebrate live music and community involvement during a bluesy brunch at Fenix.  The brunch, featuring gourmet dishes and artisan cocktails and will benefit Bread & Roses (an organization dedicated to uplifting the human spirit by providing free, live, quality shows) and the Ritter Center (a strategic leader partnering with the community to foster self-sufficiency for low-income families and to end homelessness in Marin County).”

Folkish Festival! Free Live Music at the Marin Country Mart
 Larkspur, 12:30 to 2:30 p.m.

Leftover Cuties will be playing free live music from 12:30 - 2:30 pm in the courtyard at The Marin Country Mart in Larkspur.
