This Weekend: Friday Night Jazz, 'Midnight in Paris,' Vivaldi at San Domenico

Friday Night Jazz!
When: 6 p.m.
Where: Marin County Mart (2257 Larkspur Landing Circle, Larkspur)


This free live performance will feature the Bob Shleeter Trio performing from 6 - 9 pm in the courtyard. When: 8 p.m. Where: The Barn Theatre, home of the Ross Valley Players (30 Sir Francis Drake Blvd, Ross) The Ross Valley Players present their RAW (Ross Alternative Works) 2013 Fall Festival, Oct. 18 to 27, featuring four original short plays that explore “Unintended Consequences,” written by Bay Area playwrights. “Midnight in Paris”
When: 7 p.m.
Where: Art Works Downtown (1337 Fourth Street, San Rafael)

Art Works Downtown presents Midnight in Paris; an unforgettable anniversary party celebrating its 17th year. The event is Inspired by the movie directed by Woody Allen highlighting the art scene of Paris in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. This event will feature art, gourmet food and wine, live music, with multiple venues creatively decorated in the Parisian theme. Food stamps - presentation about eligibility
When: 10 a.m.

Where: Fairfax Community Church (2398 Sir Francis Drake Blvd., Fairfax)

Learn about eligibility for Calfresh, also known as Food Stamps, a nutrition program for income eligible participants. Hear a presentation from the Marin Food Bank regarding the benefits and eligibility requirements.

Canal Cruises of the World
When: 11 a.m.
Where: San Anselmo Town Hall (525 San Anselmo Avenue)
Join local travel agency owner Diana Saint James for an armchair travel talk about the rivers of the world and their differences. Discover how to choose the river boat that meets your needs and budget, mobility access, Christmas markets, bicycle availability and much more. This will be a lively, friendly opportunity to have all your questions answered about river travel.

Vivaldi at San Domenico
When: 3 p.m.
Where: Bettye San Domenico Music Conservatory, Poetz Ferguson Hall San Domenico School (1500 Butterfield Road, San Anselmo)

This Virtuoso Program Benefit Concert will feature the Orchestra da Camera conducted by Ann Krinitsky. The 36th annual Vivaldi celebration will also feature music by Britten, Bloch and Mendelssohn with a special collaboration with the San Domenico Singers.
