Reaching Across the Aisle: Vote Marc Levine for Assembly

We don't tolerate bullying on the playground, and we shouldn't tolerate adult bullying from the California Democratic Party, either.

Everyone knows Sacramento is polarized and that nothing gets done because our "representatives" are galvanized in their positions. Polarization and ideology have ruined Sacramento. We need someone who wants to reach across the aisle and take steps to understand people.

That's why I voting for and endorsing Marc Levine, a Democrat running for Assembly. I've been with him when he's attended meet & greet functions that are packed with Republicans and Democrats. And guess what? Everyone appreciates his centrist views and his desire to reach across the aisle.

But what does his opponent, fellow Democrat Michael Allen, do? Brands Levine a "Republican." The California Democratic Party is sending multiple slanderous fliers full of inaccurate statements about Levine to your mailbox.

We don't tolerate bullying on the playground, and we shouldn't tolerate adult bullying from the California Democratic Party, either. I guess we know how Mr. Allen works with opposing voices in the Capitol. Indeed, for Allen it appears it's not about anything except dividing people.

Will the Allen camp be able to buy this election by outspending Levine by 5 to 1 from donations from outside sources? About 80 percent of Levine's donations are from locals.

If you buy into smearing and polarizing individuals, vote Allen. But if you want to take positive steps to fix Sacramento's divided and broken system, vote for Marc Levine for Assembly on Nov. 6.

When is Michael Allen going to stop sending garbage to our mailboxes? How many trees has he wasted? His group is spending 1.4 million to try to buy this election? Levine is going to win. Go to the polls everybody on Nov. 6!

Dotty I also reject Prop 37. It doesn't go far enough and we can't afford to screw this one up. California can reject all GMO's including those in cattle feed that would not be identified by Prop 37 because Dairy, Meat, Alcohol and prepackaged foods served in Restaurants are on the exclusion list. Why exclude these; why exclude anything? If the cattle that I eat or that I get milk from is being fed genetically modified grain, I should know about it, particularly if the food produced from the cattle is being sold as organic. This is a law that hurts because it doesn't go far enough. It will create yet another beaurocracy that will increase food costs and still not do what is necessary to stop GMO's from contaminating the food chain. The push to keep Allen at all costs is yet another example of Sacramento old style politics. Now that redistricting has essentially eliminated all but one party in California, we will also be told who to vote for within the party and later what to vote for. I am tired of being told what to do. In a democracy we have a right to choose. It is time we took it. No to Measure A, no to Prop 37 and no to Michael Allen.

Michael Allen? I live in Mill Valley one block from my polling place at the Redwoods. Today Michael Allen's supporters put a flyer on my front door telling me to go to "Pleasant Valley School, 755 Sutro Avenue in Novato" to vote, indicating that this is "your polling place." Of course, they endorsed voting for Prop 30, against Prop 32, and for Michael Allen. So guess how I'm going to vote?
