Winder, Heim Splash Competition at MCAL Meet

Terra Linda High swim stars win three individual events between them and join forces in a relay victory; Kimmie Winder and Samantha Dame are among the standouts in the girls' competition.

Alan Winder and Robert Heim combined for four wins – three in individual events and one in a relay – to highlight Terra Linda High’s performance Saturday at the Marin County Athletic League Swimming and Diving Championships at Redwood.

Winder was one of the top swimmers at the meet, winning the 200-yard freestyle (1:43.04) and the 100 butterfly (49.87). He also swam the first leg of Terra Linda’s winning effort in the 200 free relay, teaming with Nick Bigot, Connor Love and Heim to clock a 1:28.04.

Heim captured the 50 free (21.57) and anchored the Trojans to second place in the 200 medley relay, following Austin Oakes, Nick Whitehead and Winder to finish in 1:39.24.

The Terra Linda boys finished in fourth place in the team standings.

The Trojans’ girls took fifth in large part due to Kimmie Winder, who placed second in the 200 free (2:00.51) and third in the 100 free (54.89).

Samantha Dame was the standout performer among all San Rafael swimmers, claiming a pair of fourth places – in the 200 free (2:01.53) and 100 free (55.08).
