Trojans Split Four Tough Matches, Take Fourth at NCS

The defending champs get a narrow win over MCAL rival Marin Catholic en route to the consolation finals, but an exceptionally tight competition finally exhausts Terra Linda.

's wrestling team completed a grueling day of competition with a fourth-place finish at the North Coast Section Redwood Empire Dual Team Wrestling Championships at Maria Carrillo High in Santa Rosa on Saturday.

The defending champs, who came in seeded second behind eventual champion Healdsburg, were extended right off the bat in their first match, barely edging El Molino 34-32 to advance to the semfinals.

However, the Trojans came out on the short end of another tightly contested battle in the semifinals, falling 37-33 to Windsor to drop into the consolation bracket.

Even beating a Marin County Athletic League foe was tough on this day, as Terra Linda barely escaped Marin Catholic 35-30 in the consolation semifinals.

But three exhausting matches took its toll on the Trojans in the consolation finals, where they lost a rematch with El Molino 39-31.
