San Rafael Twilight Criterium, Road Closures Set for Saturday

Several downtown roads will be closed Saturday afternoon and evening for the annual San Rafael Twilight Criterium, set for this Saturday, July 27.

The event is occurring on the heels of last weekend’s Marin 415 Mile running race, which also took place in downtown San Rafael. 

The following roads will be closed from 1:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. for the race, according to the San Rafael Police Department:

  • Fourth Street between Lootens Place and D Street
  • Fifth Avenue between Court Street and E Street
  • A, B, C and D Streets between Fourth Street and Fifth Avenue
  • Julia Street

Organizers are encouraging people attending the event to park at one of the two downtown parking garages, at Third and A Street or Third and C Street. A map of downtown San Rafael parking can be found here on the City of San Rafael website. However, note that the parking garage at Fifth and C Street will be closed during the Twilight Criterium.

More from the San Rafael Police Department:

“Motorists traveling in downtown are advised to use Second Street, Third Street, or Mission Avenue as alternate routes. Drivers heading to Highway 101 should consider using Sir Francis Drake Boulevard from the Ross Valley hub as an alternative.”
