Pro-Boxer Nave to Hold Match at Albert Field Friday

The Marin County Assassin will face an undefeated 24-year-old Missouri boxer in this one-time affair at Albert Field.

Welterweight champion Paul Nave will go up against an unbeaten 24-year-old Missouri boxer at Friday night, the Marin Independent Journal reports.

"The Marin County Assassin" in June after he was denied a permit to host a professional match at the park. Friday night’s event will be the first boxing match in Albert Field's history, and possibly Nave’s last fight in Marin County, he told the Marin IJ.

His proposal, which called for a three-hour boxing event beginning at 7 p.m. once a week, was denied a permit due to concerns over availability of seating, possible damage to Albert Field as well as disturbance to neighbors in the area.

Friday night’s event is a one-time affair, according to the San Rafael Community Services Department.

Nave will face Brandon Hoskins, an undefeated fighter with a record of  eight knockouts. The fight begins at 7 p.m. Tickets range from $30 to $200.

A proposal for , which garnered attention in the past months for the same concerns that denied Nave a permit, goes before the City Council on Monday.
