George Lucas’ Daughter Really Has ‘The Force’ in MMA

The filmmaker’s adopted kid, a martial arts champion, is featured in a new documentary.

Nicknamed “Powerhouse,” Amanda Lucas has been pummeling the competition in the Japanese mixed martial arts league known as DEEP. A year ago, she was crowned champion after beating Yumiko Hotta in the third round.

Her story has become a documentary in the hands of Bobby Razak, who besides being a movie director is also a martial arts buff. The film is set for release later this year.

Lucas has had cameo appearances in a few of her father’s movies, but she’s reportedly come into her own as a fighter. At 31 years of age, she has a 5-1 record, with the only loss being her first official match.

She is the daughter of George and ex-wife Marcia Lucas, adopted during their marriage. She had bit parts in all three of the “Star Wars” prequels.

Lucas was knocked out in the third round of her 2008 pro MMA debut but rebounded the following year with a unanimous decision victory to even her record. She earned the title last February.

It would be nice if the comments section had "Thumbs up / Thumbs down" like the PressRead More Democrat.

We have been to Pet Emergency a few times with various animals over the years, and they areRead More absolutely FANTASTIC! Top quality medical care, and a very caring and compassionate staff. I can't say that I look forward to going there (sick pets are always difficult), but I am sure glad they are here for us when we need them!
