Venturing Crew 1220, which specializes in Shooting Sports, is having two “Open House” events in Marin. High-school age young men and women are invited to attend. The purpose of the Open House is to encourage young people to participate in shooting sports and other Crew activities.
The Open Houses will be held at Marin Rod and Gun Club, on Tuesday, August 23, from 7-9 p.m., and Saturday, August 27, from 3-5 p.m.
Crew 1220 offers pistol, rifle, shotgun, muzzleloader and archery events. Safety training in shooting and gun handling is provided by NRA certified instructors. Equipment, including firearms, is provided.

The Crew shoots once a month at Richmond Rod and Gun Club, and also is planning several high adventure activities and trips. All Crew events, both high-adventure and community-based, are initiated, developed and implemented by the youth. Venturing is the young adult division of the Boy Scouts of America. It is coed, and open to ages 14 to 20, or age 13 and completed 8th grade.
