Terwilliger Nature Guide Volunteer Orientation

Join San Rafael's Wildcare Center on August 14, 2010 and learn about one of the most engaging and fulfilling volunteer experiences in the Bay Area! WildCare Terwilliger Nature Guides lead nature discovery walks for children, and get specialized training on local wildlife indentification and outdoor teaching methods.

After the initial free orientation, Nature Guide Training starts in early September and will be provided by experienced naturalists and biologists. The curriculum will focus on local biodiversity with topics including redwood forest ecology, bird identification techniques, spring wildflowers, outdoor teaching methods and much more. The training program involves 10 half-day training and field sessions.

WildCare Terwilliger Nature Guide Training graduates commit to leading a minimum of 3 discovery walks per month. All walks take place on weekday mornings during the school year. If you have questions or are interested in becoming a Nature Guide please contact Education Coordinator, Anya Pamplona. This is a great opportunity to enjoy the outdoors while giving back to the community.
