The 4th Saturday Parks & Paths Service Day will be today when volunteers will meet at the San Rafael Community Center. The park behind the center is used by thousands of people each month for baseball, softball, tennis, bocce and various other activities.
Volunteers can plan to bring a picnic lunch and enjoy the park after the cleanup or visit Wildcare Nature Center across the street and see the animals such as egrets, pelicans, hawks, etc.
This is a great opportunity to provide a safe, clean environment for the many people who visit this park regularly. It will also benefit the wildlife of the area that get caught in or ingest the litter that blows into the creek from the ball field and park.
