Chosen as one of 25 coaches nationwide, a local water polo coach is being recognized for her "outstanding achievements" with high school students.
Coach Sophie Waldron, from Terra Linda High School, was recently named a 2014 winner of the Positive Coaching Alliance's "Double-Goal Coach Award."
More than 1,700 coaches were nominated from around the country for this award.
Each winner receives $250, a trophy and celebration and appreciation from all corners of the PCA Movement, according to the organization.
