San Anselmo Officials Warn of Reckless Driving Spike
Problems are especially pronounced near schools, town officials say.
San Anselmo officials say they're receiving widespread complaints of reckless driving, especially in neighborhoods around schools.
The complaints include reports of speeding and motorists blowing through crosswalks and failing to stop at stop signs.
The problem is particularly pronounced around schools at start and stop times, which town officials say is especially troublesome because that's when children are making their way to and from school on bikes and by foot.

Town officials are offering the following traffic safety tips:
• Leave several minutes early for your destination so that you don’t feel the need to rush.
• Stop completely at stop signs; don’t assume that someone isn't going to be coming from another direction.
• When driving through residential neighborhoods, respect the fact that speeding through these areas endangers pedestrians, children and pets.
• Respect the neighborhoods around schools; drive carefully and park legally.
• Don’t believe that this is somebody else’s problem – we all need to be part of the solution.
