Miller Creek Student Wins State Spelling Bee

Share your congratulations with the eighth grader.

Margaret Wang, an eighth-grade student from , became the California State Junior High Spelling Bee Champion on May 12.

Miller Creek Middle School hosted the Spelling Bee, which included 54 seventh-, eighth- and ninth-grade students from 27 counties throughout California.
Julie A. Fukunaga, an eighth-grade student from San Joaquin County, finished second and Fayyaz Ahamed, an eighth-grade student from Kings County, finished third.

Fourth Place – Varun Jain, a seventh-grade student from Contra Costa County
Fifth Place – Shilpa Rao, an eighth-grade student from Contra Costa County
Sixth Place – Darius Rucker, an eighth-grade student from Yuba County          

The California State Junior High Spelling Bee Championship was coordinated by the Marin County Office of Education.
