Former Giants Pitcher Visits Glenwood Elementary
Mike LaCoss, the new pitching coach for the San Rafael Pacifics and a former starting pitcher for the San Francisco Giants, showed up at Glenwood Elementary on Friday.
Former major league starting pitcher Mike LaCoss signed baseball cards and talked about the new San Rafael baseball team to an enthusiastic crowd of kids at on Friday.
LaCoss, now the pitching coach for the San Rafael Pacifics, told kids of the importance of hard work and integrity. He also encouraged the students to come out and watching batting practice at once the team is up and running.
"You never know if there's another Willie Mayes or Mike LaCoss sitting here today," he said.
