Marin Master Gardeners celebrate Marin’s agricultural legacy at the 2012 Marin County Fair, Saturday June 30th - Wednesday July 4th with an exhibit featuring  Demonstration Gardens, Speakers, Children’s Day Activities, and a Post Fair Plant Sale (July 5th  at 8 a.m). 

This year’s theme, Marin Grown: Garden to Table will showcase four simple, sustainable and spectacular ways to grow edibles at home. Marin Master Gardeners will be available to answer questions, offer tips and show you how to get started. Come to the Marin Master Gardeners Demonstration Garden and get inspired! Let’s make Marin a healthier and more beautiful place to live, one garden at a time.

In addition to the stunning demonstration gardens, Marin Master Gardeners will present 3 expert speakers each day, addressing topics from bees to irrigation strategies. Children’s activities are Monday July 2nd . The following speakers are featured this year:

The Marin Master Gardeners are a dedicated, trained group of volunteers with a shared love of gardening and horticulture.  Through community service and educational outreach, they provide home gardeners and community organizations with the knowledge and skills to create a healthy environment for Marin County.  Since 1986, Marin Master Gardeners have worked as non-paid staff members of the University of California Cooperative Extension (UCCE), answering public inquiries and providing information on all areas of plant health and gardening practices.
