All consultants need to sell their services and products, but most of us feel awkward doing it. To people in professional services, the word “sales” conjures up visions of pushy used-car dealers in leisure suits. That’s not something we want to be on the receiving end of, and not something we want to inflict on our prospects.
Effective selling isn’t like that at all. In fact, the easier our sales conversations, the more effective we are at closing business.
Come to the July BACN meeting to learn skills that expand influence and deepen relationships--ideal for sales environments involving multiple decision makers and complex decision criteria. Develop techniques that can dramatically improve your ability to influence others in small, informal meetings. Stop talking at your customers: balance advocacy with inquiry to build openness and rapport, instead. The skills you learn will help make selling feel easy.
By the end of this program you will know
- How to gain traction with prospects and customers more quickly.
- How to consult with customers about deeper needs at more strategic levels.
- How to get hired in a world where people buy with their hearts, not their heads.
- How to sell naturally and easily.
About the Speaker
Terry Gault is co-owner of The Henderson Group, where he’s worked since 1997. The Henderson Group helps high-visibility teams and individuals succeed by communicating with power, authenticity, and presence. He also launched EinsteinFilms.com in 2010, a video production company. He’s spent 30 years in film, television, radio and the theater as an actor, teacher, director, writer, and producer.
In addition to informal networking before and after the meeting, we facilitate closer connections with the other consultants at your table. Bring your business cards and sit with someone you don’t know. See some examples of previous Creating Connections exercises.
BACN Bits & Bytes
Judy Baker will lead July’s BACN Bits & Bytes segment.
This is a time to exhange resources and crowd-source the challenges you face as a consultant. If you have a question to ask of your fellow consultants, or a tip to share, now is the time to do so. (It is not a time for announcements: we do that at the end of the meeting. And it's not a time for self-promotion, either.)
Deadline for advance registration is Wednesday end of day before the event. (That’s so we have time to make your name tag.)
Registration at the door by cash or check (as space permits): $40.
CANCELLATION POLICY: If you notify us before sales close on the Wednesday before the event that you can't make it to the meeting, we'll give you a credit for a future meeting.
BACN now serves a full breakfast. (Yes, there is bacon at BACN.) Please register in advance to make sure we don’t run out! Everyone gets cranky when there’s not enough coffee at 7:30 AM.
Free parking in the McInnis Park Golf Center lot.
