Dominican Launches Debate Web site

Anticipating interest in gubernatorial contest.

 Dominican University of California Wednesday launched a Website – www.cagovdebate.com – to provide up-to-date information and engage the community in the October 12 California Governor's Debate at Angelico Hall on Dominican's campus.

The debate between Democratic candidate Jerry Brown and Republican candidate Meg Whitman will be moderated by NBC News' Tom Brokaw and televised live at 6:30 p.m. on NBC Bay Area, NBC Los Angeles, NBC San Diego, KCRA in Sacramento and KSBW Salinas/Monterey.  

The Web site will provide information about obtaining tickets to the debate. In addition, the site is designed to inform and engage the community through the use of social media, including on Twitter and on Facebook.

The site also includes a link where people can sign up to participate in a focus group the night of the debate and information for people, led by Dominican alumni, to register to host debate watch parties across the state.

The debate website was designed by Dominican GreenMBA alum Joey Shepp's new media agency, Earthsite.
