San Rafael Public Library Announcements (Week of March 2nd, 2014)

On Wednesday, March 5th, 2014 from 1pm-2pm, the San Rafael Public Library (1100 E Street, San Rafael),  presents  Modern Nature: Georgia O’Keeffe and Lake George, an art talk led by De Young museum docent, Maureen O’Brien, examining the extraordinary body of work created by Georgia O’Keeffe at Lake George, New York.  Part of the First Wednesday Art Talks series, this lecture is held in the City Council Chambers, 1400 Fifth Avenue. Doors open at 12:30 pm. Seating is limited. Admission is free. Please call 415-485-3321 for more information.

San Rafael Public Library (1100 E Street, San Rafael) presents Write On!- come and explore through writing what has been influencing your life the most. Write your truth through poetry, prose, fact or fiction. Join us from 3pm-5pm on Wednesday, March 5th, 2014 in the library’s meeting room. This free program is sponsored by the Friends of the San Rafael Public Library and is taught by Robert-Harry Rovin. For more information, please call (415) 485-3321.

Pickleweed Library- a branch of the San Rafael Public Library (50 Canal St, San Rafael) will host a community forum in conjunction with the Marin Independent Journal (IJ) on Community Journalism. Come and meet IJ editors and reporters who are interested in getting suggestions from community members for how they can better cover our local communities. Tuesday, March 4th at 6pm. Room #4-Albert J. Boro Community Center.
