Happenings for the week of Jan. 14.

The San Rafael Public Library (1100 E Street, San Rafael) presents Shaking Your Family Tree. Learn to use the library’s online resources such as Ancestry.com to research your heritage. This free class is taught by librarian, Richard Le, and meets on Monday, January 14th, from 2-3:30pm. Please call ahead (415) 485-3321 for more information and to sign up - this program is held in the Library’s meeting room and space is limited.

The library’s ongoing Computer Chat group meets on Wednesday, January 16th from 12:15pm-1pm in the library’s meeting room. No question is too simple or too difficult. Internet, social media, searching, YouTube, iWork, Macs, PCs, Microsoft Office, iTunes, and more. Please call (415) 485-3321 for more information.

The library will hold its weekly eBook and eAudiobooks Help Session on Thursday, January 17th from 1pm-2pm. Learn how to download materials from the library's free collection. Please call (415) 485-3321 for more information.

Are you interested in buying an e-book reader or tablet? Come to the library and try out some newer e-readers, tablets, and mobile devices on the market today and get some up-to-date consumer information. This program will be held on Thursday, January 17th from 2-3:30pm, at the library. Please call (415) 485-3321 for more information.

The library will offer a free program, Affordable Senior Housing Options in Marin, on Saturday, January 19th from 11:00am -12pm. Leslie Klor, formerly with the Marin Housing Authority as the Housing Advocate, and currently with Episcopal Senior Communities at Whistlestop, will demystify the Marin housing market and help you in planning ahead to fulfill your housing needs. The library hosts an ongoing weekly Storytime for 4 to 6 year olds every Tuesday afternoon at 3:30pm. Children enjoy storybooks, flannel stories and puppets. There is no registration required for this free program. Please call (415) 485-3322 for more information.
