Show your love everyday: Start the conversation about alcohol with your loved ones!

The best way to say "I love you" is to start the conversation about alcohol with your loved ones. San Rafael ACT wants you to be safe not just during Valentine's Day weekend, but everyday! Click on the below links to see how you can start the conversation today...

"The reason most children choose not to drink is because their parents talked to them about it. If you talk to them directly and honestly, they are more likely to respect your rules and advice about alcohol use."

SAMHSA's "Talk. They Hear You.": Underage drinking prevention PSA campaign helps parents and caregivers start talking to their children early—as early as nine years old—about the dangers of alcohol.

"Model healthy living. If you drink heavily, your child is more likely to start drinking earlier and to drink more heavily. Model a responsible relationship with alcohol. Equally important, model handling your own emotions responsibly, which gives kids the foundation they need to manage their own emotions, so they don't self-medicate."
