Kindness by the Men and Women in Blue

On Tuesday, the San Rafael Police pulled over a male driver with a baby in the car for driving while using his cell phone.

When the man couldn’t produce a valid driver’s license, they were obliged to impound the car under current law.

Rather than leave the man with the infant to his own resources, the city’s gendarmes called out an unmarked police car and took the man, with the infant in a proper infant car seat, to his home.

If Kramer Herzog, of San Quentin Village, hadn’t been passing by on his way to volunteer at the Community Media Center of Marin as Technical Director for Marin’s news program, we would never have known about this simple act of kindness by the men and women in blue.
