Supervisors Susan Adams and Katie Rice joined the rest of the Marin board in their support for  Assemblyman Michael Allen in his reelection campaign when they announced their endorsements this week.

Supervisors Judy Arnold, Steve Kinsey and Kate Sears endorsed Allen, who is running for a seat in the 10th District of the California State Assembly, during the primary election. Allen recently moved to downtown San Rafael when redistricting splintered his current district, which included Napa County as well as parts of Sonoma and Solano counties.

“With every community in Marin, from San Rafael to Bolinas to Larkspur and beyond, facing cuts to schools and fighting to keep parks open, we need experienced, committed lawmakers like Michael Allen back in Sacramento to stand up for us,” Rice said in a press release.

Prior to his election to the Assembly in November 2010, Allen had a career as a registered nurse, lawyer, mediator and labor leader. He chaired the SMART Citizens Advisory Committee and worked with residents of both Marin and Sonoma counties to tackle transportation issues.

Allen earned the top spot in the June 5 primary. His runner up is San Rafael City Council member Marc Levine.

Although Levine did not receive any of the supervisor’s endorsements, he is “gratified to have broad support from local elected officials and community leaders across Marin and Sonoma, including the mayors of Santa Rosa, Novato, Larkspur, Tiburon and Sausalito and the sheriff and district attorney of Marin County,” he said.

It would be nice if the comments section had "Thumbs up / Thumbs down" like the PressRead More Democrat.

We have been to Pet Emergency a few times with various animals over the years, and they areRead More absolutely FANTASTIC! Top quality medical care, and a very caring and compassionate staff. I can't say that I look forward to going there (sick pets are always difficult), but I am sure glad they are here for us when we need them!
