New Judges Appointed to Child and Traffic Courts

Local family law attorney Judith H. B. Cohen and former San Francisco Superior Court Commissioner Frank J. Drago were appointed on April 16.

The Judges of the Marin County Superior Court are pleased to announce two new appointments to the Bench effective April 16, 2012.

Local family law attorney Judith H. B. Cohen has been appointed to preside over the cases filed by the Department of Child Support Services involving the setting of child and family support orders, collection of arrearages and other issues related to child custody and family support.

Former San Francisco Superior Court Commissioner Frank J. Drago has also been appointed to preside as a Traffic Referee over the traffic and infraction calendars, primarily handling contested infraction trials, trials by written declaration and other related matters.

Cohen has been a member of the California State Bar since 1979 and has practiced family law in Marin County for more than thirty years before winding down her practice in 2011.  She is a graduate of Northwestern University and Golden Gate University School of Law.  She has served the Court as a temporary judge in Family Law Bench Bar Settlement Conferences for several years and is also appointed to serve as a discovery referee in family law cases.

Drago was admitted to the California State Bar in 1975. He is a graduate of University of San Francisco and USF School of Law.  He has been serving as a judicial officer, primarily for the San Francisco Superior Court, for most of the last ten years.  He presided briefly in the Marin Superior Court as a traffic commissioner prior to accepting the appointment in the San Francisco Court.
