Lucas Ordered to Pay in Discrimination Lawsuit
Worker said she was fired because of pregnancy.
A Marin County jury found that filmmaker George Lucas's Lucasfilm Ltd. discriminated against a pregnant women it had hired to manage his San Anselmo compound when a job offer she had accepted was reneged.
The jury awarded Julie Veronese of San Francisco $113,800 after reaching its verdict after more than two days of deliberations.
Lucasfilm has denied any wrong doing.

The trial in Marin County Superior Court in San Rafael included testimony from Lucas and his property manager, Sarita Patel. The award included $93,800 for lost wages and $20,000 for emotional distress.
San Francisco attorney Angela Alioto, Vernonese's mother in law, said she will seek $1.2 million in attorney fees from Lucasfilm.
