Levine and Allen to Face Off in November Election

The two will contend for the vacant seat in the 10th Assembly District.

San Rafael City Councilman Marc Levine and Assemblyman Michael Allen achieved will be heading to November's general election.

Allen, who recently moved to San Rafael to run after a state commission divided his district, garnered 30 percent of the vote and Levine took the other top spot with 24 percent.

“I want to thank my grassroots supporters, the many elected officials and community leaders across the district who endorsed me, and most of all the voters of Marin and Sonoma for this show of support,” Levine said.

Seven candidates ran to fill the vacant seat left by Jared Huffman. The 10th Assembly Districtcovers Marin County and a large portion of Sonoma County.
Allen’s campaign raised around $800,000, including approximately $250,000 in independent expenditures.

"I'm finding that with Marin it's very congenial. I love the people and they seem to be taking to me,” Allen told the Marin Independent Journal.
