Discussion Topic: Local Activist Claims Council Member Used Public Funds for Campaign

What do you think about Jonathan Frieman's complaint?

Local activist and Patch blogger Jonathan Frieman recently filed complaints against council member Marc Levine stating that Levine violated three laws by campaigning for a state assembly seat at the Thursday Fourth Street Farmers Market, according to the Marin Independent Journal

"Recently, San Rafael City council person Marc Levine was observed campaigning for State Assembly District 6 while sitting at a table at the Thursday evening Farmer's Market in San Rafael," Frieman said in his letter to District Attorney Edward Berberian. "Said table is maintained for the express purpose of discussing with fairgoers issues concerning the city of San Rafael."

Frieman claims that Levine violated two government codes and a penal code that prohibit elected officials from accepting and using public resources for campaigns or personal purposes.
