Democrats Invited to Help Select Delegates

San Rafael Democrats as well as those in all of Marin and Sonoma are invited to help select delegates at 2 p.m. on Jan. 9 at the Marinwood Community Center at 775 Marinwood Road for the California Democratic Party's state convention in April.

The California Democratic Party is convening Assembly District meetings to select delegates in each of the state's 80 Assembly Districts.  The 6th Assembly District will be holding its election.

"Grassroots participation gives strength to the California Democratic Party," said Marc Levine, chairman of the 6th Assembly District Democrats and executive board member of the party. "This is our chance to give voice to our values."

Assembly districts from 80 locationss will elect 12 people, six women and six men, to be members of the Democratic State Central Committee. These 12 people will represent their Assembly District for both the 2011 and 2012 state conventions.
