The Albert Park Advisory Committee will conduct a mid-season review of the city's agreement between Centerfield Partners, LLC. regarding the use of the park's field and stadium for minor league baseball games.

The committee will discuss everything from traffic and parking to noise and alcohol sales at a public meeting on Monday, July 16.

The San Rafael City Council appointed the committee . Centerfield's proposal sparked controversy from some Albert Park neighbors who were concerned about the effects of traffic, noise and safety baseball games would have on their community.

The seven-member advisory committee, which includes three members from the adjacent neighborhood, a downtown business owner, two members of Centerfield Partners and someone from the Park and Recreation Commission,  will present a mid-season and an evaluation at the end of the year.

Monday's meeting will be held at the at 618 B St. It will begin at 7 p.m.

admittedly, i've only been to one game but, from what i can tell, the impact is virtually nil. the parking lot (generously donated) across the street seems to accommodate all who drive. i could barely hear the p.a. announcer while IN the park. there is plenty of staff on hand to deal with any problems. and, i can't think of any housing in the immediate area that should be majorly or minorly affected by lights at night games. what i did see was an entertaining baseball game in a family friendly atmosphere that seemed to be enjoyed by all attending. my only gripe is......porta-potties. ;)
