Women Cited for Prostitution, a Donation Box Stolen From Wendy's and Ammunition Theft

The San Rafael Police blotter for April 18-23 includes thefts from vehicles, residential burglaries and Post Office snoozing.

April 23 

Stolen vehicle: Third Street and A Street. Reporting person said she parked her vehicle at 8:40 a.m. in the parking garage on the third floor and when she returned at 5:30 p.m. she noticed her vehicle was no longer there. The vehicle was entered into the stolen vehicle system.

Disorderly conduct: 700 block Fourth Street. Subject was passed out drunk on the sidewalk in front of Lotus Cuisine. The intoxicated subject was belligerent and did not qualify for detox. The subject, who has several pending court cases, was booked into Marin County Jail.

April 22

Theft from vehicle: 100 block First Street, San Rafael. Reporting person said they noticed all four hubcabs were stolen from his friend’s white 1979 Mercedes Benz he had borrowed. He discovered them missing on April 20 in the morning. The vehicle was parked in front of his home.

Loitering: U.S. Post Office, 910 D Street. Report of two subjects sleeping on the main floor of the post office. The officer issued the two citations and they were escorted from the property.

Marijuana possession: Fourth Street and A Street. Officer saw the subject, who is on probation, standing in front of 1055 A Street. The subject make a furtive movement to the waistband of his silver shorts under his jeans. Officer later determined the subject was in the process of rolling a blunt. The marijuana tested presumptive positive for the presence of THC. The marijuana was weighed at 11 grams. Officer requested that the subject be given a “no drugs – including marijuana” clause to his probation terms and be required to submit to testing. The subject was given a stay away order to stay at least 100 yards from the 1000-11000 blocks of Fourth Street. 

 

April 21

Theft from vehicle: 33 Stevens Place. Reporting person said someone smashed the passenger side window of their 1998 Honda Civic and took their cell phone from the vehicle.

Theft from vehicle: 800 block n. San Pedro Road. Reporting person parked their vehicle across from the Ranger Station in China Camp State Park at 8:30 a.m. When they returned at 10:15 a.m. they found the passenger side door was unlocked and all personal items of any value in the car were stolen.

Burglary: 100 block Laurel Place. Reporting person’s home was burglarized and her vehicle was stolen.

 

April 19

Prostitution: Front Street and Medway. While conducting surveillance, an officer watched a subject contact two males in an area known for prostitution. She was loitering in the area and had evidence of prostitution when contacted. She admitted to being a prostitute and the officer located her “myredbook.com” site. She was cited and released.

Prostitution: Kerner Blvd. Officer saw a female suspect flag down vehicles and contact males, indicative of a prostitute. Upon contact she admitted to being a prostitute and in the area for that reason. She was cited and released. 

Burglary: Wendy's of Marin, 910 Anderson Drive. The subject entered Wendy's at 910 Anderson Drive and used bolt cutters to remove a donation box on the front counter. The box held approximately $70 in cash.

 

April 18 

Warrant arrest: Fourth Street and A Street. Officer saw a female subject sitting on the corner during the farmers market. The officer was aware that the subject had a warrant for her arrest. The warrant was confirmed and she was placed under arrest. She was handcuffed and transported to Marin County Jail.

Burglary: 100 Marin Center Drive. Reporting person said her former housekeeper entered her residence through an unlocked window on April 16 while she was sleeping and stole a large wooden drawer full of household tools. The reporting person, who has a long history of dementia, could not provide a value for her drawer and the contents. The window appeared to be boarded and secure.

Burglary: Finestone, Regina Way. An unknown person(s) pried open the victim’s locked front door. The suspect stole a computer and a jewelry box.

Burglary: 2500 Deer Valley Road. Between April 15 and 18, unknown suspects entered a locked garage and stole 600 rounds of ammunition, valued at $360.

Burglary: Shylocks of 5th Avenue, 834 Fifth Avenue. An unknown suspect used a butter knife to remove a glass pane from the rear French door of Shylocks and gained access to the business. Nothing appeared to be missing.
