Woman Knocked Unconscious After Interrupting Burglary

A woman came home to find three burglars in her home on Woodland Avenue.

A woman was knocked unconscious after she walked in on three burglars in her home on Woodland Avenue Monday afternoon, according to police spokeswoman Margo Rohrbacher.

At approximately 1:30 p.m., the victim walked in to her house on the 200 block of Woodland Avenue to find three suspects in her home. One suspect punched her, causing her to lose consciousness. The suspects then fled out a window, Rohrbacher said.

San Rafael police officers searched the surrounding area, which included , but did not find the suspects.

"We determined there was no need to call for a lock down at the school," Rohrbacher said.

The woman was transported to for her injuries. Police are determining if anything was stolen.

The woman described the man who hit her as a black male, around 25 years old and approximately six feet tall with a think build. He was wearing a black knit cap, a black jacket and blue jeans. There was no description for the other two suspects.
