Two San Rafael Juveniles Arrested After Novato Gang Fight

Two juveniles, one wearing Norteño gang attire, were arrested by Novato police Saturday night.

Novato police arrested two San Rafael juveniles after being called to a gang fight at on Saturday, according to Sgt. Eric Riddell.

At approximately 10:51 p.m. on Saturday, Novato police responded to reports of a fight at a 15-year-old girls’ birthday party, known as a quinceañera, Riddell said.

There were approximately 100 people at the party, which took place at the Novato Youth Center on 680 Wilson Ave. A witness reported approximately 20 people involved in a suspected gang fight and one victim bleeding from the face, Riddell said.

When the police arrived, several people were still fighting. One witness reported seeing a suspect with a baseball bat in his hands, according to Riddell.

“The involved parties fled as soon as the police arrived,” he said. “As for the victim, we never found him.”

As police officers searched for suspects, several additional fights broke out north and south of the Novato Youth Center.

When the officers attempted to disperse the crowd, a male and a female were arrested. The male suspect wore Norteño gang attire and was booked in Marin County Jail. The female suspect attempted to resist arrest, was cited and released to her parents. Both were juveniles and intoxicated, according to the .
