Two Men Arrested in Connection to San Rafael Restaurant Shooting

"We're confident we have the primary suspects in custody," San Rafael police said.

By Bay City News Service:

San Rafael police have arrested two men in connection with the shooting of a man inside a downtown restaurant last month.

Christian Fernando Moran, 19, and Victor Alexis Deleon, 20, both of San Rafael, were arrested Tuesday on suspicion of attempted murder and conspiracy, police spokeswoman Margo Rohrbacher said.

Moran was arrested at the San Rafael Police Department, where he was being questioned about the March 1 shooting in Pa's Mexican and Filipino Cuisine restaurant at 916 B St. Deleon was arrested in Marin County Jail, where he was being held since March 11 for a violation of probation, Rohrbacher said.

Police received a call about the shooting around 1:15 a.m. on March 1.

Witnesses said the gunman walked up to the 31-year-old victim and shot him several times, then fled out the front door down B Street.

The suspect was described as a Hispanic male wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, Rohrbacher said.

There were about 20 people in the restaurant at the time of the shooting, police said.

The victim, who has not been identified, underwent surgery at Marin General Hospital. Rohrbacher said there is no indication why the shooting occurred and that there may be more arrests.

"We're confident we have the primary suspects in custody," she said.
