Tree Slams Into San Rafael Home, No Injuries Reported [Photos]

San Rafael firefighters responded this week to help out a local resident whose home was damaged when a giant oak tree fell on it.

Fire Commissioner Larry Luckham tells Patch crews were dispatched around 4:40 p.m. Tuesday to the home on Gloria Drive, and shared the attached images from the scene.

"It appeared that the oak had developed a bit of decay, probably over time and just picked this time to come crashing down," he said.  "I believe the owner was at home when it happened."

Luckham said that fire personnel, under the command of Battalion Chief Buscher, helped the homeowner retrieve belongings from inside the house until someone could be hired to remove the fallen branch.

No injuries were reported.
