Transit Center Robbery Suspect Tracked Down

Marin City man arrested after alleged robbery of 15-year-old boy.

A 22-year-old Marin City man was arrested Friday night following a report of a robbery that took place near the San Rafael Transit Center, police said.

A 15-year-old boy told a transit center security guard that he had been robbed while walking on a nearby path at about 12:10 p.m. Thursday and said he knew the suspect by his first name, Sgt. Lisa Holton said. Police learned that the boy had been playing dice with the suspect, later identified as Frank Lee Gray, 23, of Berkeley, and another man shortly before the robbery.

The boy told police that Gray grabbed him, reached into his pants pocket to remove an undisclosed amount of cash, then told the boy not to tell police. Upon investigation, Gray and the second man, later identified as Reyes, allegedly divided the money and fled west toward San Rafael’s central shopping district.

Police are still searching for Gray, Holton said.
