Traffic Strike Results in 2 Arrests

The San Rafael Police Department conducted a traffic enforcement strike on Friday.

The San Rafael Police Department’s traffic enforcement strike on May 20 resulted in two arrests, one three citations, 16 issues for moving violations and three tows.

A team of seven officers focused on impaired driving from 4 p.m to 1:30 a.m., and a total of 30 drivers were stopped, according to the police.

  • One criminal arrest was made for an outstanding warrant.
  • Three unlicensed drivers were contacted, cited and released
  • Sixteen moving safety violations were issued
  • Three vehicles were towed

Officer Kevin MacDougald made an arrest for driving under the influence after the driver was stopped for amplified music and showed a blood alcohol level of .10.

MacDougald was recently honored by the California Office of Traffic Safety for his outstanding efforts in DUI enforcement, which included 89 DUI arrests in 2010.
