Three-Wheeled Vehicle Stop Leads to DUI Arrest

Two women were found driving on the Golden Gate Bridge without a front left tire in heavy rain.

California Highway Patrol officers arrested two San Rafael women on suspicion of drunken driving after they drove on the Golden Gate Bridge in heavy rain without a front left wheel.

At approximately 3:08 a.m. on March 14, CHP found the 2003 Mitsubishi Eclipse driving on the left tire’s rim at 50 miles per hour northbound on US-101 just after Spencer Avenue.

When officers stopped the car on Rodeo Avenue, they noticed the smell of alcohol in the car. The driver, 28-year-old Crystal Larios, told the officers she was not aware that she was driving without a front left tire, according to CHP spokesperson Eric Hohmeister.

“CHP officers determined through a DUI investigation that Larios was driving under the influence of alcohol,” Hohmeister said.

As the officers arranged for a family member to drive Larios’s passenger, 28-year-old Marjorie Delgadillo, home, Delgadillo became belligerent.

Both women were booked in for a misdemeanor DUI and public intoxication.
