Four Hurt in Morning Collisions on 101

San Rafael firefighters responded to three separate collisions on Highway 101 this morning.

Firefighters responded to three multiple-vehicle accidents on Highway 101 the Thursday's morning commute, where four were transported to the hospital for injuries.

At approximately 8:10 a.m. a 31-year-old man from Petaluma driving a 2000 Chevrolet southbound on 101 crashed into a 1997 Honda near the Corte Madera Creek Bridge. The collision caused the Honda to hit the car in front of it, according to California Highway Patrol spokesman Chris Rardin.

The Honda's driver, an 18-year-old female from San Rafael, and her passenger were taken to Marin General Hospital for complaints of pain.

A second collision occurred five minutes later due to the stop and go traffic from the first collision. A 35-year-old pregnant woman from San Francisco reared ended a Dodge Caravan. She was taken to the hospital as a precaution because her air bags were deployed, Rardin said.

Then, 15 minutes later, a third collision happened at the Corte Madera Creek Bridge. A 47-year-old man from Novato was traveling southbound on 101 on a motorcycle at 60 mph, when he lost control and collided with the car in front of him. He fractured his lower left leg and was transported to the hospital, according to Rardin.
