Three-alarm Fire at Skywalker Ranch Causes Much Smoke, Little Damage

Fire at Skywalker Ranch started near fireplace, says Marin County Battalion Chief

A fire broke out at the famed Skywalker Ranch in Nicasio early Tuesday evening, according to information from Marin County Battalion Chief Mike Giannini. The three-alarm fire started near a fireplace in the three story "Main House" on Lucas Valley Road and was quickly responded to by Skywalker Ranch's own fire crew.

The Skywalker Ranch fire crew received support from the Marin County Fire Department and San Rafael Fire Department. The decision to call for a three-alarm response was based on the size of the structure and not the intensity of the blaze, with later reports stating minimal damage was done to the compound.

The three-alarm blaze sparked a frenzy of updates on Twitter just as polls were closing for Tuesday's election.
