Suspected Pimp Arrested for Alleged Hooker Attack, Kidnap Attempt

The female victim was injured in the attack.

Authorities said a suspected pimp was arrested in Novato on Friday for allegedly assaulting and attempting to kidnap a female prostitute, the Marin Independent Journal reports.  

Police responding to an 11 a.m. report of an altercation near the intersection of South Novato Boulevard and Stone Drive found the 19-year-old alleged victim, who told police that she was a prostitute, and that her pimp had punched and kicked her in the attack and then tried to drag her into his car, the report said.

The suspect had already left the scene by the time police arrived, the report said.

The alleged victim identified the suspect as Vincent Rondel Cleveland, 24 of San Francisco according to the report.

Police spotted Cleveland on Ignacio Boulevard near Alameda del Prado, the report said.

Cleveland was arrested on suspicion of robbery, kidnapping, pimping and assault, among other charges according to the report. He was booked into Marin County Jail on $1 million bail.
