Suspect Arrested After Threatening Man with Barbecue Fork

A 22-year-old man is accused of threatening his friend's roommate with a barbecue fork.

San Rafael police officers arrested a man accused of assaulting his friend’s roommate with a barbecue fork, according to police spokeswoman Margo Rohrbacher.

San Rafael resident Oscar Alberto Cosme, 22, was booked in May 21 on the felony charges of assault with a deadly weapon. Cosme gave his name as Jorge Rivera to jail officials when booked, and his bail is set at $50,000.

At approximately 11 a.m. on Monday, Cosme got into an argument with his friend’s 29-year-old male roommate at their apartment on the 500 block of Canal Street. The argument escalated, and Cosme allegedly took a barbecue fork from the kitchen, held the roommate from behind and threatened him with the fork to his neck, Rorhbahcer said.

“The victim sustained two large abrasions on his neck, but did not go to the hospital,” she said.

Officers arrived and arrested Cosme. The cause of argument is not known.
