UPDATED: Structure Fire Near Marin County Civic Center Controlled

A fire was reported just after 8 a.m.

A blaze reported just after 8 a.m. this morning near the Marin Civic Center has been contained, according to fire dispatchers.

The fire, which started at an old wooden garage to the rear of the Santa Venetia Super Market at 69 San Pedro Ave., was reported at approximately 8:10 a.m., according to Fire Chief Chris Gray. Firefighters, under the command of Battalion Chief Jeff Rowan, identified a vehicle and combustible materials in the garage, however damages were limited to a single garage, vehicle and fence. 

There were no injuries reported.

"Quick work and appropriate action by San Rafael firefighters minimized losses here this morning," Gray said.

How the fire started is still unknown, although firefighters expect the cause was electrical.
