Gas Station Clerk Injured During Armed Robbery
A clerk at the Union 76 gas station in Terra Linda went to the hospital after a gunman hit him on the head during a robbery.
San Rafael police called off the search for a suspected gunman who assaulted a gas station clerk in Terra Linda Tuesday morning.
At approximately 11:06a.m., a man entered the Union 76 gas station on Del Presidio Boulevard with a hand gun, according to police spokeswoman Margo Rohrbacher. The suspect hit the the clerk, a 38-year-old man from Terra Linda, with the gun before fleeing toward Las Gallinas Avenue.
San Rafael police searched the area, using a canine unit and a helicopter, until 12:30p.m., Rohrbacher said. and went on a temporary self-imposed lockdown during that time.
The police were not able to locate the suspect, and it has not been determined if anything was stolen. The clerk was taken to , Rohrbacher said.
The suspect was described as a white male, around 24 years of age, approximately 6 feet tall with a blonde ponytail. He was wearing a red T shirt and brown pants.

The last time a gunman robbed a Terra Linda gas station was on Feb. 14, when a man displayed a firearm at Gateway Gas at 1005 Northgate Drive.
