Drop off your expired or unused prescription drugs at San Rafael City Hall this Saturday.

The San Rafael Police Department and federal Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) have organized a drug “take back” event for residents to dispose of unwanted prescription medications.

The event, slated for Saturday, April 27, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at San Rafael City Hall (1400 5th Avenue), will be the sixth drug “take back” organized in San Rafael in the last three years.

The service is free and anonymous, according to the San Rafael Police.

“This initiative addresses a vital public safety and public health issue. Medicines that languish in home cabinets are highly susceptible to diversion, misuse, and abuse,” San Rafael Police Spokesperson Margo Rohrbacher said in a press release.
