San Rafael Police Arrest Vandalism Suspect Accused of Knife Attack on Transit Guard, Report says

A San Francisco man is accused of attacking a San Rafael Transit Center with a knife on Thanksgiving.

A San Francisco man was arrested after allegedly attacking a San Rafael Transit Center with a knife, the Marin Independent Journal reports.

The attack occurred on Thanksgiving at about 11 p.m. after the guard confronted the suspect, who he witnesses slashing several bicycle tires with his knife, the report said.

The suspect lunged at the guard but no injuries were reported.

Clarence Witzel Jr. ran from the scene and was arrested after a short chase on Fourth Street near Grand Avenue, the report said.

Witzel was arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon and vandalism and booked into Marin County Jail on $50,000 bail.
